The EU Scholarship Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community is implemented by the Goethe-Institut. This Programme’s objective is to provide the Turkish Cypriot community with broad education opportunities within the European Union and enhance the connection with the Programme’s alumni and the EU while assisting the alumni with further professional development.

ABOUT THE EU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR THE TURKISH CYPRIOT
COMMUNITY
The EU Scholarship Programme, implemented to support the Turkish Cypriot
community’s alignment with the European Union (EU), has enabled more than 2,450
Turkish Cypriots to pursue education and training opportunities in EU Member States
since 2007, providing a total of €43 million in scholarships.
Since June 2022, the programme has been implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
– Strengthening Social and Cultural Links with the EU
To reinforce the social, cultural, and educational ties between the Turkish Cypriot
community and the European Union, offering participants the opportunity to
experience EU values, cultural diversity, and lifestyle first-hand.
– Supporting Economic Development and Workforce Skills
To help bridge the gap between the skills available in the workforce and those
demanded by employers, thereby contributing to the economic development and
competitiveness of the Turkish Cypriot community.
Since 2007, the EU Scholarship Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community has provided more than 2450 Turkish Cypriots with scholarships within the EU.
More than 43 millon euros worth of scholarships have been funded by the European Union since 2007 that provided the Turkish Cypriots with opportunities to pursue their education and professional development goals in Europe.
As of June 2022, the EU Scholarship Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community is being implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
